| Lunch time is like Makansutra.. I always wonder where my manager will bring me to next. Last week, the best lunch was the Nasi Ayam at Old Airport Road.. (Just mentioning it, I can feel the chicken in my mouth..) It's just a normal foodcourt, very low class, much like a canteen. But there's this one nasi ayam stall. The chicken is like no other. *slurps* And not too ex. $3 for a plate. But the chicken was worth it even if it cost 4 bucks seriously. There's thick ketchup on top of the rice and chicken. Nowadays, they hardly pour ketchup on chicken rice anymore. I think the ketchup is as important as the sambal. Then the soup of chicken stalk, wasnt bland like tap water. And the best, the chicken was juicy, crispy crust (!!), soft.
Then another day, we ate at near, Aljunied there, I dont know where, just a small chinese stalls by the roadside.. But got one erm Middle-Eastern/Indian stall in the middle of the shops. We shared butter naan and garlic naan, tandoori, and mutton curry.. Her treat again =/ I dont know why haha. Honestly, Im not a fan of tandoori chicken. I dont really like dry, tough, full of meat kind of chicken. Unless the skin is crispy, which is not the case for tandoori's..
Last few days, lunched at Vivo banquet.. She was quite particular of where she bring me too lah. She always ask me if I can eat this place this place, halal or not.. She always make sure got something malay for me to eat.. If not, last resort, Subway at Kallang Leisure haha. Actually got Koufu there, but dont think got halal food. She tries not to make me eat KFC or Mcs, which is the most convenient, downstairs only. Less than 5 mins away. Unless like that day, raining like typhoon lah. And we super hungry and have to OT, so I went down to get for us McD.
And Thurs I think, we went to Marine Parade foodcourt, for the cheap Malay food. I had the $2 mee soto :D But I told her, cant beat the Nasi Ayam at old airport road.. Then she said she will bring me there again next time.. She also asked if I ate at Adam Road before, and say one day she will bring me there.. Sounds far =/ Can go Thomson Rd for prata also or not? Hehe.
Oh ya. On Tues I think, she went to buy toto. Cus the draw was like $5m. She asked me to choose for her numbers, so I randomly gave her a few of my favourite numbers.. Then we started to berangan in the car. She said she will give me commission. I told her, no need, if she win, can just buy for me new phone. And she said, can, can start choosing my phone already. Cheh, like real lahhh.. Hahhaha. Then she plan to resign and live life like a taitai. Lollll!
Ok, I feel like having old airport rd's nasi ayam.. Hope Monday she bring me out for lunch heh heh.

| Transferred to new department today. An hour before lunch, my manager for this department took me out for site recce. Then she said she wanted to have an early lunch cus she has meeting later.. My wallet was at my desk =/ I only bring my handphone haha. Then she said nvm "First lunch will always be on me one..." HAHA Erk. paiseh sia. Selama seminggu kerja kat situ, orang asek belikan makanan jeee... Tebal jugak muka ni tak lama lagi.. Today's like my 6th day working there, this is like the 4th time already people give me food!!
Went to Koufu at Kallang Leisure Park, then I dont know what to get, just wanted to munch. So I told her maybe I getting KFC (wanted to buy popcorn chicken). Then she bring me to Subwayyyyy.... HAHA.
She bought for me the set, sandwich with 2 cookies!! Sandwich I ate halfway, cus like full.. Like I say, Im not really hungry during lunch time.. Then I bring half the sandwich and the 2 cookies back up to my desk, thought want to munch.. But so busy.. So I bring home... Then go home suddenly like alot of food seh..
I still got my Mr Bean pancake which I bought before work, thought of eating at my desk in case I wont be going down for lunch, at least got something to munch on.. But ended up, no time to eat also.. Then got my half eaten subway sandwich... Got my 2 subway cookies.. Then my mother cook my favourite ayam masak lemak... Want to eat, but I think sleep better lah.. Tomorrow bring the cookies to work.. Erk. hahaha.

| From my lunch experiences at giant, I know well enough that after I have a meal, for sure I'll feel too full and sleepy to work after that. And furthermore, most of the time, around noon I dun really feel that hungry yet to eat. Probably biscuits or drink should be enough..
So, during lunch time on the first day, Lily, my executive, brought me out to kopitiam, I never eat lah, like no appetite, nervous lah 1st day. Too many butterfly in my stomach.. 2nd day onwards she had meeting, so I just stayed at office and surf the net, do work, slack, whatever. Seniors around my table was like so shocked that I never go down for lunch. Then yesterday, Cik Nor, who sat behind me, asked me if I wanted anything, she will help buy for me food. I said anything lah, for me to munch at my desk.. Then she tapao-ed for me Roti John.. huhu. So the baikkkk... But I ate like around 4plus like that, when not so busy.
Then today, the lady beside me, gave me 1 slice of chocolate cake, first thing in the morning hahaha. Thennnn... during lunch, I never go down again... Thought of getting something from McD downstairs, but suddenly rained super heavily.. So I just get hot milo from pantry... And the lady beside me (the one who gave me cake in the morning), gave me fries and apple pie LOL. She said people give her, then got alot, so she give me, cus I never take lunch (again...)
Hehe. Tomorrow's already friday. Like so fast. My last day tomorrow. Im already so comfortable at my current desk and people around me.. Next monday, I'll be transfered to another department. I'll be staying there a little bit longer.. Hope the job's ok.. Sounds more complicated though, but hope I'll learn alot more relevant things there.

| First day was quite a blow to me. I came today with the thought of having an interview, or at most, a briefing to let me know more about the job I applied. Little did I know that I actually have to start work today. But lucky I came prepared, with pen, notebook, and cardigan. When I was waiting at the reception for Lilian, I noticed the staff there are so friendly. Smiling and greeting each other, and to the securities. I had so much positive attitude to work. Being in this surrounding cant be a bad thing. As soon as Lilian walked me up to the office, she was talking about my documents and mentioned that I can start doing work first. I hardly even know my job scope, and the event Im working on. I wonder what I just got myself in to. Dare not think of the worst, I just kept the thought that events are fun and something Im familiar with. So I was introduced to Lily, the person I will be working very closely with. And the person sitting behind me, reminds me sooo much of the malay Home Econs teacher, wear specs and tudung. She also said can ask her if I need help. And one of the recruit manager whose room was just beside my table. She tapped me and said she'll be here if I need anything. So nice lah all. But they all from a different department and got nothing to do with what Im doing. Only me and Lily are the same. And also the boss. (Over lunch with Lily, I learnt that out of the many staffs that are at the office, only Lily and Me and working on the programme, which is heavily supervised by boss.) So me and Lily like the most frequent visitors to boss's room. My first task, even before I get to digest the fact that I really am working, was to run through the incomplete programme sheet left by my predecessor. Boss requested for it, so without having knowledge of anything at all, I printed it out and handed it just like how it was, without making any changes. I swear I was so cock. I never really understood what he wanted. I never even read to see how the programme flows. Then boss made amendments and commented on it, as if I know what was happening and what the event was about. I wonder if he forget that it was my first hour at work.. So I just agreed to whatever he said, but had to ask Lily again outside. Good thing, Lily was very patient and understanding. So by the first 2 hours of my first day of not having general knowledge of the company and its counterparts, I had made small amendments and printed out like 3 drafts of programme sheet. Photocopied a few documents. I thought it was a good start, but I have a feeling boss thinks Im slow with my work. Oh ya, I shall add, when I first went in his room to let him see the programme sheet, he gave me 2 fucking thick files of documents of last few years events for me to refer. And then, by the 2nd or 3rd draft I gave him to check, he asked me to make phone calls to that person involved in one of the activity. I was just about to get the flow of this whole event and its delegates, and then suddenly have to call someone who I am not sure of their relation to this event, and whether they are aware that they are involved for it or not. Oh and then, Lily asked me to help her photocopy one thick stack of documents, related to one of the event also. I put it aside first, cus I was editting the programme, and sending out emails, and looking at some caterings. Then she asked me where I put, I swear I couldnt remember after that and felt like getting fired anytime. Search and search, it was camouflaged inside one of the thick file of documents. Nabeh. Scare me. She had over $1000 worth of transport claims and flight ticket claims inside. I dont want to pay for that one my first day of work. So I quickly go and photocopy for her first. Expecting more tomorrow. More phone calls, more emails, and papers. And yah, boss told me and Lily that they having meeting with dono who, and ask us to join for the meeting also. I really hope I wont be lost. Imagine corporates talking in chim company terms, how'd 2-day old staff grasp that? A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. -Winston Churchill | |

| "Donald Trump often says to "think big." He definitely does so, but by nature, I don't. My excuse is that I come from a small town in Hawaii. My family wasn't rich, so when it comes to money, I tend to think err on the side of caution. Over time, my thinking has become medium-sized when it comes to spotting opportunities, but I'd still like to think bigger. Currently, I'm working on a real estate project to present to Donald. Consequently, I find myself pushing my thinking, expanding my context, and thinking of luxury, not just price. Even if Donald doesn't like the project and we don't partner on it, just preparing to present the project to him has required me to think bigger and come up with a better plan.Over the next few days, I realized that the reason I couldn't afford the condo was because my business was too small. If I wanted to afford such a luxury residence, I needed to come up with a better plan for my business. Today, I'm working harder than ever to improve it – not because I want the condo, but to be able afford such a condo if I someday decide I want one." - Robert Kiyosaki, The Rich Get Richer

| It's 9 at night, and its raining now.. Which reminded me about just now..
I was on the way to Ehub this afternoon. Alighted at Hai Sing and was walking towards the traffic light.. The dark clouds was coming in, and I began walking a little faster, hoping to make it to Ehub, which was about 100 metres away, asap, and trying to catch the next green man if possible.. And then suddenly, the wind blew like typhoons coming i swear.. Seriously out of a sudden.. From breezy, to damm windy, if i was a little bit more lighter, I could have flown.. Erk ok lah maybe not that bad..
Then just as I was a few steps away from the traffic light, it rained heavily :( I dont know to feel thankful that it turned to green man when I reached the traffic light, or dreadful for the fact that I couldnt make it on time to shelter just before it started raining.. huhu :(

| Saturday, 17th Oct 09 - Fiknatic Raya cum MovieJust a quick update. Had a short visiting last Sat but alot of people couldn't make it. So was down to about 8 or 9 of us.. First house was mine at around noon. The first to come was Suriani, and I was still vacuuming the living room lol! Then Surizah, followed by Husniyah, and then Fiza and lastly Shanns. Went to Husniyah's house at the other side of town council. Was barely a 15mins walk. Her house don't have Sujee's, but got nice FAMOUS "amos" cookies larr. Me, Fiza Suriani and Surizah like nearly finished the whole thing. Sampai tapaokan untuk Fiza!! HAHAHAHA! Then make our way to Bedok...Shann's house next.. We just sat down and was about to make ourselves comfortable, when someone "Assalamualaikum" at the door 5 mins later.. Fiza thought orang jual-jual -.- Taufik came, with Min. Those who did not join for visiting with us, see what you've missed. I'm trying not to rub salt to the wound, but just saying, that opportunities like this don't come every year. And my conclusion is, try to join us as often as possible ;) you'll never know what kind of surprises will come knocking at the door. credits to shanns for this. Undeniably I was surprised too haha. And of course everyone wanted a photo with him. I had mine too lah, like duuh. Huhu. Oh yeah, managed to get Min to take picture!! K will post a very small one. Yey, I love Min! ^^ Yeah, so gedebak gedebuk, they left 10mins before 5. He had Pesta Raya rehearsals at 5 lorrr! But will be seeing him again the next day for Pesta Raya. And the next next day also for Project Hope. Haha, like marathon siol. Supposedly we're supposed to go to woodlands to Suriani and Surizah's house. But since it was around 6 already, and planned to catch the 7++ movie, so we had to skip woodlands and make way to Orchard by train. Seats were full for most of the movies we planned to watch. Ended up have to buy the 9++pm tickets. So we just lepak at BK, to rest our feet, quench our thirst, and reminisce that afternoon. Haha. View full gallery here. | |
